Thoughts From Game #1

Is there anything better than spoiling a banner night?

How dumb do you have to be to think the Cup goes upside down? About as dumb as you have to be to make Def Leppard the band of the NHL I guess. Great to see my buddy Quincey turn it back over.

To steal a line from Dan O'Toole..."remind me to never allow the NHL to plan a party for me"

Is it just me...or is Jonas Frogren the second coming of Dany Markov? I know Johan Franzen thinks so.

I am excited to see Ron Wilson have John Mitchell on the opening night roster, the kid earned it. Country club of veterans no more.

Mikhail Grabovski looks great. Excellent skater.

Kulemin still looks hesitant, but who can argue with a breakaway game winner?

Mike Van Ryn has already done more defensively than Bryan McCabe.

Gotta say, I don't mind the trap when it results in wins. Excellent work Ron Wilson.

I guess you really do spell VESA with MVP in it somewhere.

I like Niklas Hagman. Great skater, smart shooter...Jason Blake could learn something.

Is Ponikarovsky carrying a child? Or is there another reason hes skating like hes carrying 8 pounds on him?

See you on Saturday

RIP Luc Bourdon

Until next time.
